Dual Piston

Aluminum Calipers

This includes 2 calipers and braided stainless

connection lines with fittings and your choice of pads.

Completely interchangeable with stock B-Body calipers.

 

This dual piston caliper provides additional clamping force over the stock single piston caliper.  The stock caliper has 6.77 sq-in of piston area while these dual piston units provide 7.09 sq-in.

 

These calipers are a direct "bolt-on" replacement for the stock B-body calipers but there may be some slight clearancing required.  On one of my test fit cars there was some interference from the spindle on the passenger side.  Two of the pictures at right show where the material was removed.  I am not sure why this was an issue on only one of the spindles, but it may be due to variations in the GM castings or this car may have had a spindle replacement in it's 180K mile life with a different part number than the original.

 

One other issue that you may encounter is interference from "studs" that stick out of the back of your pads.  Since these calipers will work with all stock style pads, this may or may not be an issue for you depending on the pads you chose to run.  The 2 pads pictured at right show where small studs were ground flat so that they pads would sit flush in the calipers and not interfere with the pistons.

 

These calipers are designed and sold as a racing part for track/off road use.  Any other use is at your own discretion.
